The fact that books are still banned in schools actually blows my mind. I recently befriended a guy who is a 7th & 8th grade English teacher in Omaha, Nebraska. When I asked about the challenges of teaching in such a conservative community (which is how he described the place, not an arbitrary conclusion I had jumped to), I learned that several books, including The Giver, are banned from their schools. I HATE The Giver and, for some reason, I feel extra-outraged that other people are being denied the right to (intelligently) hate The Giver, too.
KPR steals the show with the performance at 14 seconds in. Why hasn't he been in previous commercials?
